## Who We Are
Naseej ("we", "our", "us") is a mobile application built for Muslim women to manage their daily life — faith, planning, wellness, work, family, finances, and study. The app is published by the Naseej team.

## What Data We Collect
### 1. Account Information
- **Name** — provided by you during sign-up or onboarding
- **Email address** — used for authentication and account recovery
- **Password** — stored in hashed form by Supabase Auth; we never see your password in plain text
If you sign in using **Sign in with Apple**, we receive only an anonymised Apple user ID and, at your option, your name. We do not receive your Apple email unless you choose to share it.
### 2. Profile and Preferences
- Onboarding answers (language preference, work type, life areas, number of children) — stored to personalise your experience
- App settings and notification preferences
### 3. User-Generated Content
All content you create inside Naseej is stored in your personal account:
- Tasks, projects, goals, and notes
- Prayer logs, Qur'an reading records, Adhkar counts
- Health logs (sleep, water, mood, energy, meals, workouts)
- Cycle tracking data
- Expense records, budget entries, savings goals
- Study courses and session logs
- AI chat history with "Ask Naseej"
### 4. Location (Optional)
Coarse location is requested **only** to calculate accurate prayer times for your city. Location is:
- Processed on-device by the `adhan` library
- **Not transmitted to our servers**
- **Not stored or logged anywhere**
You can deny location permission and enter your city manually instead.
### 5. Crash and Error Reports
We use **Sentry** to collect anonymous crash reports and performance traces. These include:
- Device type and OS version
- App version
- Stack traces (no personal content from your data)
You can opt out of crash reporting in Settings → Privacy.
### 6. Usage Analytics
We collect **no third-party analytics** (no Firebase Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no Google Analytics). We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertising networks.

## AI Assistant ("Ask Naseej")
When you use the AI assistant:
- Your messages are sent to **Anthropic's Claude API** to generate a response
- Anthropic's data handling is governed by their [Privacy Policy](<https://www.anthropic.com/privacy>)
- We do not store your AI conversation history on our servers beyond your device session
- Your conversation is not used to train AI models

## Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on **Supabase** (PostgreSQL), hosted on servers in the EU/US (depending on your region). All data is:
- Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+)
- Encrypted at rest (AES-256)
- Accessible only to you via your authenticated session
Row-level security (RLS) policies ensure that no user can access another user's data.

## Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from **Settings → Account → Delete Account**. Upon deletion:
- All your personal data and content is permanently erased from our database within 30 days
- Crash reports (which contain no personal content) may persist in Sentry for up to 90 days

## Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- **Access** the data we hold about you
- **Correct** inaccurate data
- **Delete** your account and all associated data
- **Export** your data in a portable format
- **Withdraw consent** (e.g., location permission, notifications) at any time

**For EEA/UK residents:** You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

## Children
Naseej is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete the account promptly.

## Cycle Tracking Data
Menstrual cycle data you log in Naseej is:
- Stored exclusively in your personal account
- Never shared with third parties
- Never used for any purpose other than displaying your own records to you
- Not accessible to us or any third party

## Cookies and Tracking
The Naseej mobile app does not use cookies or cross-app tracking identifiers (ATT/IDFA). We do not track you across other apps or websites.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top
- Notify you via an in-app message for material changes
Continued use of Naseej after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
